Dozens of people have donated and left touching messages on a memorial fund website for Mary Ann Shipstone set up by a family member.
At the time of going to press 87 people had raised more than £1,400 in the space of a day by donating to the site, which has been created by Kyle Shipstone. The goal is to raise £5,000.
The family wrote: “We have set up this page in memory of Mary Shipstone who was tragically murdered by her father.
“We hope this fund will help create a lasting legacy for and in the name of a special daughter.
“Please give as much or as little as you can spare and help us leave a lasting tribute to such a special little girl. Please share and help us reach our goal.”
Touching messages were left from school friends. Others left words of support for mum Lyndsey.
One moving comment read “Death leaves a heartache no-one can heal, love leaves a memory no-one can steal. Sleep sweet amongst the angels princess.”
Another comment read: “Northiam is so sad that we couldn’t keep you safe.”
Friends from the local multi-sports club Moovers N’ Groovers said: “We will remember always that lovely smile, cheeky personality and boundless energy.”
One message read “Sleep tight little fire-spark.”
