Mountfield Village Hall was the venue for a Public Meeting of Mountfield Parish Council on Tuesday 21st January. As you will probably remember, the inclement weather made it difficult for people to get there. Thanks to the efforts of Dave Craven, Lee Gray and Paul Last who cleared snow from the road, paths and car parks surrounding the hall, a good sized crowd managed to attend. Well done chaps. Thank goodness Mountfield has such thoughtful young men among it’s residents!. There was standing room only for some people as the Parish Council Chair, Jim Ray opened the Public
Meeting and then handed over to Vice Chair, Peter Miles. Peter invited the audience to ask questions and make comments on the four parts of the application.
A lively session followed about each element of the application. There seemed to be a lot of passion about preserving the countryside around Mountfield from development. The open session finished at 9.15pm when Jim Ray resumed Chairmanship of the meeting and members of the Parish Council discussed the comments made by the public and then voted unaminously against all of the developments in the planning application.
