Netherfield

Best Wishes: I wish everybody a happy and prosperous New Year for 2016.

Netherfield Post Office/Shop/Cafe: The shop provides such a lot of different items which can fill a gap in your pantry, make the birds in your garden happy that there is something to eat, and satisfy the fish in your pond that everything that floats is not a pond skater. You can also get competitively priced wine and beer, wood to keep the home fires burning and papers to read when you want to keep up with what is happening in the wider world. When you need to send a parcel or a letter, withdraw money from your bank account or just have a chat with Janette and her staff, there is always a friendly smile and a listening ear. So pop along to this haven of village life and sample the delights within. Remember, “use it or lose it”.

Home-made Cake Tasting: I know this is the 3rd posting about the tasting taking place in the Netherfield Village Shop, or maybe even the new cafe, on Friday 15 January 2016 from 2-4pm but can you afford not to take advantage of of this tasting. Maybe all your favourites will be on offer or you will have the chance to sample something out of the ordinary. Just remember, anything you say about the cakes will be used to determine what stock the new cafe’s “cake stand” will be filled with. when it opens – maybe your choice!

Netherfield Coffee Shop: Have you put forward your suggestion for the name of the new coffee shop/cafe. That box is still available in store for all those ideas that you wish to put forward. Just think, if you are the winner you could be enjoying that bottle of wine so get those suggestions in, as time is running out.

Contact: If you have any stories or articles of interest that will give our readership a reason to buy the paper please contact me on 07471000385 or via email at u4netherfield@outlook.com
