TALENTED local photographers will have their work on show in the newly launched Rye Calendar 2014.
The calendar was unveiled at a special reception at Rye Tourist Information Centre last week, which was attended by Rye Mayor Shaun Rogers and Rother Council chairman Ian Jenkins.
Cllr Rogers presented the winners of the 2013 Rye Photographic Competition with a selection of prizes that were sponsored by local businesses and attractions.
Cllr Jenkins said: “The title given for the new 2014 calendar, “Rye and Beyond” sums up through the photographs this glorious part of the country we are all privileged to live in.
“Well done to all those keen photographers who participated in the competition judged by Clive Sawyer, not forgetting all the sponsors who made the production of the calendar possible.”
Tourist Information Centre Manager Tracey Young said: “This is the third Rye Calendar that we have produced at the TIC and the standard of photography is improving every year, making Clive Sawyer’s task of judging the competition a difficult challenge.
“The calendar is not only a wonderful memento of a visitor’s stay in Rye, but also a fantastic advert for their friends and family to come and visit us in the future.”
They would like to thank the following sponsors: Bodiam Castle, Edith’s House, Fletchers Tearoom, Kent and East Sussex Railway, The George Hotel, The Mill Toy Museum, The Riverhaven Hotel, Pashley Manor Gardens, and Yesterdays World Museum.
Rye Calendars are on sale at the Tourist Information Centre, 4/5 Lion Street, Rye.
