A new slide in memory of murdered seven-year-old Mary Shipstone was opened by her mother in Northiam on Saturday (May 7).

The girl was shot twice in the head by her estranged father Yasser Alromisse outside their Northiam safe house before he shot himself in September, 2014.

Lyndsey Shipstone cut the tape for the slide with her new baby Daisy in her arms.

The opening had been delayed for a few weeks as the parish council needed to install a safety surface, but the slide was quickly enjoyed by children eager to use it.
