Arthritis Research UK are holding a coffee morning on November 6 in the Reading Room, Ninfield. The cost is £1 for coffee and biscuits. There will be a raffle and bring and buy as well.
Battle & Ninfield Guild are next meeting on November 6, 2.30pm at the Methodist Church Hall, where they will have a talk by Revd. P. Doodes on ‘The Beachy Head Chaplaincy’. They next meet on November 20 when Revd. I. Wales discusses ‘The Crowhurst Healing Centre’. All are welcome to their meetings, which include refreshments at the end of the meeting.
Hooe Open Group will be next meting on Friday November 8, 2.30pm at Hooe Village Hall, when David Harrison from Carr Taylor Vineyard will deliver at talk entitled Vines & Wines, no doubt with a sample of this year’s vintage? Hooe History Society will be meeting on November 14 at 7.30pm in Hooe Village Hall. Their speaker this month is Helen Poole who will be talking about Lewes Castle. Helen is a knowledgeable and entertaining speaker and so everyone is looking forward to an enjoyable evening. It will also be possible to purchase copies of the Hooe History Society Calendar 2014. This publication has been received extremely well and copies, at £6.00 each are going fast. If you are stuck for an interesting Christmas present to give (or to keep for yourself!) this is your answer! Copies are available prior to the November meeting from Peter or Pam Doodes 01424 892329. Also at the meeting it will be possible to reserve your place at the Society Christmas Dinner in The Red Lion in December. Places will be allocated on a first come basis. 1st Ninfield Scout group are holding a Family Bingo night on November 16, 7-9pm at Ninfield Memorial Hall. Costs, to include a bingo book are £3/adult and £2/child. Additional books can be purchased on the night for £2/book.
Ninfield Horticultural Society are meeting on November 18, 7.30pm in the Memorial Hall. This month they welcome Chris Jenkins who will take the group to the ‘Atlantic Forest of Brazil’.
Ninfield Local History Group are meeting on November 21, 7.30pm at Ninfield Methodist Church Hall. This month they welcome Nick Austin with a talk on ‘The Battle of Hastings and Ninfield in 1066’. There will be no meeting in December. On November 23, the Memorial Hall will be holding a ‘Home-Made’ Fair. This could cover anything from knitted hats to jam, cards to cakes. St Mary’s Church, Ninfield, are holding a Christmas Coffee morning on Saturday November 23. Alongside teas and coffees available all morning, there will be a raffle, Crafts and Gifts, Cakes and Produce, Tombola and Competitions. Ninfield Flower Group have tickets now available for their Christmas meeting on December 6, 7.30pm at the Memorial Hall.
