Hooe Open Group met in the afternoon of Friday, July 11, at Hooe Village Hall. The rain did not prevent a record attendance of just over 30 members and visitors. The star attraction was Tracy Trimmer, who is a top class Podiatry (Foot care) expert with a BSc degree in the subject; her clinic is located in Little Common, called Trim Feet Podiatry. The presentation covered all aspects of foot care, from cutting nails to dealing with corns, calluses and other skin ailments. There were many questions both during and after the presentation, highlighting a keen interest in the subject.
Tracy Trimmer also gave advice on the subject of choosing the right shoes, which did not always follow the selection by size only; she said other criteria have to be taken into consideration such as support, posture and comfort. Tea was taken at 3.30 p.m. during which Tracy Trimmer went around to each table to further discuss and advice on aspects of foot care. The next meeting of Hooe Open Group will be on August 8, when the club will be visiting the Carr Taylor Vineyard to see and sample the new vintage and partake of a ploughmen’s buffet lunch. If you are interested in joining a lively group of ladies who enjoy each other’s company, contact Edna Wallis on 01424 842591 and she will be pleased to welcome you into the fold.
