Dance Club meet on Friday evening at 7.30pm in the Village Hall for sequence dancing. Badminton clubs are in the Pretious Sports Hall at 5.30pm (Primary) 6.30pm (Secondary), and 8pm (Adults).
The Footpath Group leave the surgery car park at 1pm on Sunday, heading to Rye Cattle Market car park to start Playden Playtime, a 3½ mile walk.
On Monday, Bridge Club meets at 2pm in the Jenkins Room alongside Short Mat Bowls in the main Village Hall. Badminton and Zumba are held in the Pretious Sports Hall at 5.45pm and 8.15pm respectively, and Classical Pilates in the Village Hall at 6.30pm. The budgerigar Society meets in the Jenkins Room at 7pm.
Pilates classes in the Village Hall start at 9am and 10am on Wednesday, with Coffee Stop open for business at 10am in the Church Centre. Shortmat Bowls is in the Village Hall at 2pm, and Karate Club at 7pm.
Rianne will be demonstrating how to make a flower arrangement for Easter at this week’s Thursday Seniors Club, and this week, both the chiropodist and the Citizens Advice Bureau will be on hand. Lacemakers will meet in the Jenkins Room at 6.45pm.
On the evening of Maundy Thursday (28th March) there will be an opportunity for Christians who live in Northiam to gather for a time of worship and an informal Communion service in the upper room of The Oast Houses Christian Retreat Centre in Tufton Lane. The speaker will be Peter Goodchild, the leader of The Vine Church in Cranbrook. Meet at 7pm for tea or coffee and the service will begin at 7.30pm. Everyone welcome! Can it really be Easter already? And still no sunshine! There will be an Easter Coffee Morning Market in the Village Hall next Friday 10am-12noon, and An Hour at the Cross in St Mary’s Church at 2pm.
On 30th March, Showtimers are running a 50s & 60s Hop at and in aid of Northiam Village Hall. Guests are encouraged to dress up to add to the atmosphere of really good old music plus vintage video from that iconic era. Tickets can be bought at The Muddy Duck or Northiam Post Office for only £3 each. There is a bar, naturally, plus complimentary nibbles. It sounds like a great evening!
Start planning your entries for the Spring Show, which will be held on April 6th. There is still time to make items to enter the handicraft section or to take photographs – picking flowers will have to wait. The schedule can be downloaded from the village website, following links to the Horticultural Society.
The Rye and District Association of the National Trust will be taking a VIP Tour of the Pompeii and Herculaneum exhibition and other galleries at the British Museum on Wednesday 10th April.
