PET lovers are invited to join a day of fun at Northiam’s Blue Cross Centre on Sunday September 8 .

The Open Day, at the charity’s re-homing centre, runs from 10am - 4pm and festures a fun dog show and other attractions.

Sophia Khan, from the Blue Cross, said: “There will be something for everyone at the annual fun day out, including bargain-hunting galore in the boot fair, a giant bouncy castle and slide, facepainting, beautiful birds of prey, the chance to win top prizes in the raffle, stalls selling local crafts and homemade cakes, delicious refreshments and much more.

“There’s also something for the canine visitors of course - agility demonstrations, gundog scurry and temptation alley and the highlight of the day, the ever popular Fun Dog Show.

“Registration for the show starts at 9.30am and the first class begins at 10am. Perhaps your pet could be top dog in categories that include ‘most handsome dog’, ‘waggiest tail’ and ‘dog the judge would most like to take home’.”

Maria Marmo, Blue Cross centre manager in Northiam, said: “This year’s Fun Day and Dog show is going to bigger and better than ever, with fantastic attractions for all the family.

“We really love meeting all our supporters as well as seeing some of the dogs that we have rehomed over the years and all the money raised goes towards the care of all the cats and dogs here at the centre.”

The Blue Cross animal rehoming centre in Northiam has been helping homeless and abandoned animals across Sussex and Kent since the late 1960s. The centre finds loving new homes for hundreds of cats and dogs every year.

The charity runs run four animal hospitals and 12 rehoming centres across the UK.
