Dance and Badminton Clubs start our week, starting at 7.30pm in the Village Hall and 8pm in the Pretious Sports Hall respectively this evening (Friday).

On Sunday, all activity will be centred on Rye, with the 34th Annual Rye raft Race, organised by Rye and District Lions Club. On The Salts there will be a barbeque, beer tent, live music, rides for the children, and many other attractions, including crafts. The Fete opens at noon, with the actual Raft Race starting at 2pm, with rafts assembled from 12.30pm. All proceeds are donated to charity. Please follow signs for parking, along the Camber Road.

On Monday, we have The Creative Writing Group at 10.30am, Bridge at 2pm in the Jenkins Room, Badminton in the Pretious Sports Hall at 5.45pm, and Zumba at 8.15pm.

Out in the fresh air, Northiam Bowling Club would love to see new faces interested in taking up the sport. The Green is on the right hand side of the Playing Fields (after the children’s play area) and there will be a coach available to give expert tuition any Monday between 5.30pm and 7pm. There will be woods available to borrow to learn with, and the only kit you will need is a pair of flat shoes. All ages very welcome.

The Blood Transfusion Service will be visiting the Village Hall Car Park on Tuesday, with sessions 2-4.30pm and 5.30-8pm. Please go online or call 0300 123 23 23.

Coffee Stop is ready to welcome you each Wednesday morning in the Church Centre between 10am and noon (although there won’t be any bacon sarnies this week!). Thank you to everyone who supported last week’s Coffee Stop in aid of the Church Flower Fund – there will be another opportunity to support our wonderful Flower Arranging team at the Village Fair.

Northiam Seniors meet on Thursday and will be entertained by Dennis Langley, and the Citizens Advice Bureau will be available from 10am until 12 noon at the back of the Village hall.

Next Saturday (11th) is Northiam’s Summer Fair! If you haven’t booked a stall or pitch, please call Marie Edwards on 01797 253264. The Fair will be held on the Playing Fields from 11am – 4pm. Pitches for the Boot Sale or stalls for craft and local organisations are available at £10. (Stalls may set up from 9am, and Boot Pitches from 8am). Most village organisations will be displaying their wares, so please come along and support them.

Services (5th): 8am Holy Communion, 10.30am Morning Praise
