Mary Hitchins, 2 The Old Hop Gardens

I was lucky enough to be able to pay a visit to the Flying Start Pre School on Monday this week. I took my 3 year old granddaughter with me; she had a great time and so did I. We are so lucky to have such an excellent Pre School in our village, all the staff are so obviously dedicated to the children there and are so friendly and welcoming. If you have a pre school child who isn’t currently attending there I would recommend it unreservedly!

The mother and toddler group has re-started at the Memorial hall on Thursdays, 9.30 - 11.30am. All carers and children will receive a warm welcome, it only costs £2 per family so go along with your little ones and have some fun.

On Monday February 3 there will be a curry day at the Lunch Club! Mild Chicken Madras with Vegetable Curry for vegetarians, home made vegetable samosas and onion bahjis, pilau rice, home made garlic and coriander naan bread, tomato and onion salad and mango chutney. Bookings for the curry meal must be made by 2pm today (Friday January 31) call 230324.

The following week will be a traditional menu with roast beef and Yorkshire pudding. There will be no Lunch Club on Monday February 17 as it will be half term.

A reminder that it has been necessary to change the time when jumble can be delivered to the hall on Friday February 28 . You can bring your goods between 6pm and 7pm on Friday evening, or on Saturday morning, March 1 between 9am and 10am. If neither of these times suits you, please get in touch with a member of the hall committee to make alternative arrangements.

Sunday afternoon services at Peasmarsh Church have now been discontinued. Services at 10 am on the first and third Sundays of the month will continue, and notices of special services will appear in the monthly Parish Magazine. If you would like to have a copy of the parish magazine delivered please contact John Underwood at 230751. This costs just £3.50 a year. This Sunday’s service is a Family Candlemas service celebrating the Feast of the Presentation of Christ in the Temple.
