Peppa the Pig plans birthday bash in Hastings

There are many things you can learn from a six year old.

I am almost always amazed by the things my nephew Stanley comes out with.

But of all the things Stan the Man has ever taught me, the one I treasure most is his lesson in how to love a small cartoon pig. Peppa Pig is a playful little piglet who lives with her little brother George, Mummy Pig and Daddy Pig. The perfect Nuclear family no less.

Through everyday adventures she plays games, makes new friends and enjoys her absolutely favourite activity – jumping up and down in muddy puddles. Indeed, Peppa's is the sort of life disgruntled journalists can but dream of.

Perhaps if everyone spent a little less time complaining about taxes and moaning about their lot in life and a little more time jumping in puddles, the world would be a better place. Of that I have no doubt.

In fact, I regularly toy with the idea of abandoning my western ideals and living my life purely based on the teachings of Peppa the Wise.

Plenty would join me. None would regret it.

But until that day, I will have to make do with a visit from Peppa later this year.

In fact, the piglet is coming to Hastings on none other than her birthday. Aren't we lucky?

She will be at the White Rock Theatre along with her good friends Suzy Sheep, Danny Dog and Emily Elephant for her perfect party.

The show promises to be charming, original and imaginative and - perhaps most importantly - will be full of brand new songs, muddy puddles, and oinks.

There are two shows on each day, starting at 1pm and 4pm on September 1 and 10am and 1pm the next day. Tickets are 15 for adults, 13 under 16s and a family ticket of two adults and two kids is 50.
