Pett WI’s Tea in the Garden took place on Friday August 16 despite the rather ominous weather. The majority of members came along and were joined by Kathryn Hutson, President of the East Sussex Federation of WI’s, who described Pett WI as vibrant! As well as the usual delicious tea, which included home made scones and cake, there was a produce bring and buy and various articles for sale from the Stir Crazy Club.

Church Service on August 25 – Holy Communion, St Mary & St Peter, Pett at 9:30am led by Richard Baron; Sunday Service at the Methodist Chapel at 10:45am.

Don’t forget the Pett Level Rescue Boat Open Day, also on Sunday August 25, starting at 12 noon.

POPP on Tuesday August 27 will feature Keith Osborne and Music for Health. The session runs from 10:30am to 2:30pm and will include a two-course lunch for just £5.

There are still some tickets available for the Ruby Lunch Party on Saturday August 31 to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Pett Level Preservation Trust, which was set up in 1973. The party will be held in the garden of the White House, Pett Level. The tickets at £10 each will include lunch and a glass of wine and are available from Angela Hawksley on 812705 or angela.hawksley@orangehome.co.uk.

A couple of allotment garden, full or half plots, are still available. If you are interested, please contact Paul or Mac, details in Pett Parish News.
