Pett Level Beer Festival: Don’t forget this event over the weekend, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Held at the New Beach Club, Pett Level, there will be real ales and live music and entry is free.

Church Services: On Sunday August 16 – Book of Common Prayer, Holy Communion, Kay Burnett, at 8am at St Nicholas, Pett Level. Sunday Service at the Methodist Chapel at 10:45am.

Village Choir: On Monday August 17 the Village Choir will meet again at 7:30pm in Pett Methodist Chapel.

Pett Older People’s Project: On Tuesday August 18 POPP will feature Keith Osborne with Music for Health. The session runs from 10:30am to 2pm and will include a two-course lunch for just £5.

Pett Parish Council: Also on Tuesday August 18 Pett Parish Council will meet in Pett Village Hall at 7:30pm.

Pett WI: As this is the August meeting, members always go out for afternoon tea! As they had such a good time last year, members are again visiting Rye Harbour on Friday August 21 and, weather permitting, will enjoy a short walk around the Rye Harbour Nature Reserve before sitting down to tea. Members should meet in the Pett Village Hall car park at 2:30pm unless otherwise advised.

Guestling Church Flower Festival: St. Laurence Church in Guestling is running its annual flower festival on August 21, 22 and 23 this year. The festival has been running for a number of years and all proceeds go towards the Church Restoration Fund. The theme for this year’s exhibits is “Hymns from the Mission Praise hymn book”. The festival is open each day from 10am until 5:30pm, and as well as the floral exhibits, there will be refreshments (including ploughman’s lunch and cakes), bric-a-brac, bookstalls and tombola.

Garden Photography Workshop: On Saturday September 5 Robin Hutt will be leading a garden and photography workshop in the garden and studio at Fairlight End. Open to beginners to intermediate photographers, the workshop is designed to enable you to make better use of your digital camera and to produce results, which will delight you, your family and friends. The day will last from 10am to 4pm and will include a light lunch.
