It is just a tad galling to wake up to a beautiful sunny morning the day AFTER the Open Gardens second day was as wet as it gets to begin with.
But garden lovers are a hardy bunch, and visitors came anyway when it cleared up after lunch, and were very complimentary. The Saturday was fine and warm and the Friends of Playden Church benefited from lots of people exploring Playden. Very many people worked really hard and their efforts are much appreciated. It seems that the early figures indicate that we may have raised about £750, which will be useful when the spire has to be re-shingled.

If we get fine warm weather soon and doors and windows are open, remember to make your house, garage and sheds secure when you go out, or even if you are at the end of your garden. Don’t give opportunist thieves a chance..
