Rye Police have donated £250 to Marsham Older Peoples’ Project (MOPP)
The MOPP project offers a centre for older residents of Pett, Pett Level, Guestling, Three Oaks and Icklesham, with a day away from the home for isolated or frail older people.

It provides them company, cooked lunches and chances to speak to special services including benefit advice.

MOPP has been running for four years and is funded entirely on voluntary contributions, they bring together 50 elderly residents on a weekly basis and demand is increasing all the time.

The centre, situated at Fairlight Village Hall, is open on Fridays between 10am and 2.30pm and referrals can be made to the organiser through social services, district nurses or GP’s.

For more information contact Sheila Thomas on 01304 219768 or sheilaspan@btinternet.com or visit the website www.fairlightmopp.co.uk.

The donation comes from the Police Property Act Fund (PPAF), made up of monies received by the police from property confiscated by order of the court and then sold.
