A BBC South East Today presenter has explained her disappearance from television screens.

Viewers expressed their concerns after noticing the absence of popular presenter Polly Evans from the show.

Polly confirmed today (Thursday, March 16) she is on secondment in a senior editorial role on the programme and plans to return to presenting next year.

She said: “I know some keen viewers have been wondering why I have not been in my usual presenting chair on South East Today lately, and the reason is that I am taking the chance to try out a management role for the next few months. “I know that South East Today is in the safe hands of Rob, Natalie Graham and Ellie Crisell, and after seeing the programme from the other side of the desk, I plan to be back on screen next year.”
