The Art and Film Exhibition being put on by the Young People of our community is open today Friday 4th October at Robertsbridge Youth Centre between 3pm – 5pm and again next week on the 7th October at 6pm – 8pm. Please support the young people by paying a visit to see what they have to say about the community.

The Twinning Association Annual Quiz is this evening 4th October at Roberts bridge Hall starting at 7.30pm. To find out if there is any spaces available at this late hour please contact Sandie at the Floral Boutique by either popping in to see her or by ringing 01580 880977.

Tomorrow Saturday 5th October is the Monthly Market at Robertsbridge Hall between 10am – 12 noon. Come and enjoy coffee with your friends as well as being able to buy eggs, fresh bread, cakes, cheeses, fresh veg. Pet foods and handy crafts.

The British Red Cross is holding an every day First Aid morning at the Robertsbridge Scout Hut between 11am – 1pm tomorrow, Saturday 5th October. Please go along if you would like to learn how to do first aid or for a brush up of skills that you may have learnt a while ago.

Next Friday 11th October will be the first autumn meeting for the Robertsbridge Archaeological Society starting at 7.30pm at Robertsbridge Hall. The talk will be on `History of Ashburnham`. Everyone is welcome and if you would like to find out more about the Society please contact the Secretary on 01580 880457.

Robertsbridge Bonfire Night is fast approaching and there will be a need for marshals and street collectors on the night. If you are interested in getting involved to help the evening run smoothly please either contact Sam Moon on sam@robertsbridgebonfiresociety.com or go in and see Sandie at the Floral Boutique. Alternatively there will be Bonfire Society meetings on Thursday 17th October, 7th, 14th November and there will be a marshals briefing meeting on Friday 15th November. All these meetings will be held at Robertsbridge Club starting at 8pm.

The Bonfire Season starts this weekend with Eastbourne, there is a small coach going from Robertsbridge, which cost £6 per person, the booking forms are with Sandie and you can book up your coaches for the season. Payment on booking required and it will be RBS members take priority.

EPOC fitness Uk. Boot Camp every Tuesday at Robertsbridge Hall @ the new time of 6.15pm – 7pm. This is on a pay as you go basis, but new for October is 5 sessions for the price of 4 if you book now. The Flu Clinics at Oldwood Surgery have started and there are 2 more sessions on Monday 7th October between 2pm – 4pm and Saturday 12th October between 8.30am – 12.30pm Please book an appointment by ringing the surgery and booking with the receptionist on 01580 880790.

Finally we would like to send our heart felt condolences to the family and friends of Peter Thompsett who died suddenly last Saturday. Many of you will know Pete as the singer and harmonica player of the local band Lumpy and the Lumpettes. He will be very sorely missed by all those that knew him. The band will not be performing for the foreseeable future as they have lost an important member of their band and a very great friend.

Ladies Darts. The Ladies start their season on Monday 7th October with an away match at The White Hart I(Wadhurst) starting at 8p.m.

Darts. The Robertsbridge & District Darts & Push Penny League started last Friday when we played hosts to Crowhurst Park. In the single darts we were 4-0 down before victories from Justin Hardy, Richard Hawthorne and Dan Smith saw us lose 4-3 but we lost the Mens Pairs and Mixed Pairs however Frankie Taylor and Alice Hodges had a good 2-0 win in the Ladies Pairs. There were 100+ scores from Dan(105, 100), Richard(100 x 5), Justin(100 x 2), David Goodsell(100 x 2), Guy Ballard(100) and Michael Stone(100). We won pushpenny 4-1 with wins for Alan Apps, Ted Goldfinch, David Goodsell and Michael Stone while there were ‘goldwatches’ for David Fortsch and Michael. Tonight we away to The Millers Arms.
