There will be lots of local produce, vegetables, bakery, and local meats, many craft stalls and of course the important coffee and a chat with friends. Everyone is welcome it is a very friendly market.

St Mary’s Salehurst: will be holding Family Eucharist at 11am this Sunday April 3rd.

The church was beautifully decorated for Easter Sunday. A mass of lilies in memory of loved ones. If you haven’t seen them yet they should still be ok to pop along and see them.

A big thank you to all those that spent time over Easter Saturday arranging the flowers in readiness for the morning service.

Saturday April 9th, the church will be open between 10am – 1pm for some prayer and quiet reflection. There will be designated areas to help with this, looking out to our world, our nation, our village and our own lives. Refreshments will be available during the morning.

Robertsbridge Age Concern: members have been advised there will be no meeting at the Hall on Monday 4th April. They will be contacted by their drivers for pick up times for transporting to the Ostrich for 11.45am.

Members enjoyed an excellent meal at The Ostrich last week and were treated royally by the staff. A huge thanks to Rosemary and Tony who made it all possible and for making everyone so welcome. These changes are due to kitchen work being carried out in the hall.

FOOTBALL: The 1st team secured their Macron East Sussex Football League Premier Division status with a 3-1 victory at Hawkhurst United. The first half was fairly even with both sides having chances but the hosts did take the lead on the half hour mark with their striker finishing an excellent move. The second period saw The Bridge get more into the game and the pressure led to Guy Ballard converting a penalty after 70 minutes and just five minutes later The Bridge took the lead when a Tom Ripley corner found Ben Hardy unchallenged in the box to head home. The Hawks went looking for the equaliser but man of the match Michael Stone stood firm in The Bridge defence and when Ripley was replaced by Dom Whittaker ten minutes from the end he was put through and finished neatly in the corner to secure all three points for The Bridge. The 2nd team hosted leaders Sandhurst and in an even first period chances went begging at both ends but the second half saw Paul Rockett twice have a one on one with the goalkeeper but failed to score also Colin Eade and the same result later on but it was Josh Goodsell who stood out to claim the man of the match award. The visitors’ pressure finally told with goals in the 65th and 75th minute to secure the three points.
