St Marys Salehurst: start the services on Sunday 24th July at the Mission Room at 9am with Holy Communion then at 11am at Salehurst there is Sung Eucharist. Sunday Club for the school age children is in the front Vestry during the morning service.
This Sunday there is the Tea Time Church, which is an informal service. After service tea and fellowship is on offer. During August this service will take a break.
R.A.P: presents the GB Theatre Company at Robertsbridge Hall, they will be performing `As You Like It`. This is this evening 23rd July at 7.30pm. Ring 880248 for ticket availability or pop into Judges.
Robertsbridge Bonfire Society: is holding a Boot Sale next week at Robertsbridge Recreation Ground. Opens for setting up at 11am and to the public at 12 noon. To book a pitch please ring Pete on 880468.
This week we seem to have been having a mini heat wave, so does that mean summer is here. The schools have now broken up for the long break, and the hay has been cut and gathered while the sun shines. Please remember if the sun continues to Slip on a shirt, slap on a hat and slop on the sun cream, and drink extra. If you have an elderly neighbour please keep an eye on them as this weather can de hydrate people quickly, not only the elderly but everyone. Keep safe over the summer and enjoy.
FOOTBALL: The Bridge train every Wednesday at the Recreation Ground from 6.30p.m. and this Wednesday[27th] is The Bridge’ A.G.M. at Robertsbridge Club @ 8p.m. where anybody is welcome to attend and see the progress of this 120 year old club.
STOOLBALL: Our match at Scorpions last Tuesday was abandoned after the rain got more persistent. At the time we were 78-3 off 6.2 overs with Rhys Kuhler and Lou Taylor opening the innings. Lou was caught after 10 runs were scored and then Rhys was caught with 37 runs on the board. Sarah Clark was run out 4 runs later while Keith Apps[21n.o.] and Alisha Clark[1n.o.] were there at the end before the rain called a halt to the match. Last Thursday we had to cancel our Ladies away match at Catsfield due to a lack of players and Brightling’s Ladies Tournament on Sunday was postponed because the lack of teams. This Sunday[24th] is Crowhurst’ Mixed Tournament at 10.30a.m. and then on Tuesday[26th] the Mixed are at home to Crowhurst while on Thursday[28th] the Mixed are away to Hooe with both matches starting at 6.45p.m.
