A fund-raising run in the grounds of Ashburnham Place on Thursday may 14 will raise money for three good causes.
The event has been organised by local fund-raising group Out Of The Blue.
Proceeds from the event will go to Out Of The Blue which raises money for three charities: Dragonflies (the Hastings based child bereavement charity), Winston’s Wish (a national bereavement charity) and The Beachy Head Chaplaincy Team. Out Of The Blue was set up Katie and Lex Beckett after the tragic death of local man Will Beckett, who took his own life at Beachy Head in 2013.
There will be a 10k, 5k and Children’s Dash through the picturesque grounds of Ashburhman Place, Nr Battle. (£15 entry fee for the 10k, £10 for the 5k)
The event is being coordinated by race organisers ‘NiceWork’ who manage running events around the country.
The evening running event, in the picturesque grounds of Ashburnham Place, near Battle, hopes to raise valuable funds to support these charities and also to raise awareness of mental health issues and suicide.
The event will take place in Mental Health Awareness Week. Charities and Mental Health representatives along with suicide awareness groups will be there on the night to provide information.
The run will begin at 6.45pm with the Children’s Dash followed shortly afterwards by the 10k and 5k runs.
The catering team at Ashburnham Place will be organising a hog roast, barbecue and other refreshments.
Katie and Lex hope to attract many runners and supporters as possible to the event.
