RYE’S Turtle Gallery is re-opening this month with a two week exhibition by ten contemporary artists,
All exhibitors are members of the Royal Society of Birmingham Artists and the majority have never showed in Rye before.
The gallery, next to the Landgate Arch, had to close abruptly in June 2011 when owner Pat Field became ill but some weeks ago, the space was offered to the RBSA and they jumped at the chance to come to Rye and display their pictures here.
It will be a varied exhibition including landscapes and seascapes by Carol Hill, Lynda Kettle, Keith Noble and Brian Steventon.
Botanical watercolours by Vivienne Cawson. Paintings and prints by Frank Cook and John Scott Martin. Ceramics by Andrew Matheson. Sculpture by Tom Millard. Textile landscapes by Jacque Wakely.
The exhibition runs daily from August 25 - September 8 from 10am - 5.30pm.
