ROTHER Council has been blasted for hiking parking charges while ignoring out of order pay and and display machines at the town’s main visitor car park.
The situation angered former Rye councillor Steve Blattman, who said: “I am fed up with Rother continually hiking the price up for resident parking permits.
Yet again, at Udimore Road, they have raised it way above inflation by 14 percent from £260 to £300 a year.
“The irony is that the pay and display machines on Gibbet Marsh have been out of order for more than three weeks with it appears no impetus from Rother to do anything about it. How can they lose so much revenue?”
