ADVENT FAYRE: This Saturday November 22 in Sedlescombe village hall from 2pm, St John the Baptist hold their annual Advent Fayre . Please go along to their traditional fayre with jigsaw corner, toys and books, potted bulbs and local Christmas cards. As always a well stocked a cake and preserves stall plus lots of games of chance. The wine raffle is always popular giving a chance to win your wine ready for Christmas also tickets for their Grand Advent Draw will be available with lots of super prizes. The afternoon will be a good opportunity to meet old friends and make new ones over a cup of tea or coffee and seasonal refreshments. SEDLESCOMBE GREEN W I: The next meeting of Sedlescombe Green WI is on Wednesday November 26 at 7.30pm in the village hall. The guest for the evening will be “Brand Kate Tym” who will be welcomed before giving an evening of poetry. The competition is as always “ flower of the month” but for this month also your favourite “Christmas decoration” Visitors and new members are especially to this small but friendly WI. CHILDREN IN NEED: I hope you were able to enjoy the fundraising last Friday for this cause and also to see Sedlescombe Youth Club taking part in the programme. The village has an expanding youth club that we can all be proud of thanks to Matt and Michaela Davey who lead and arrange the activities for our future generation.
CHRISTMAS FAYRE: Saturday November 29, Sedlescombe school hold their Christmas fayre from 12pm to 3pm. There will be lots of exciting things to do and games to play including find the treasure , X box challenge, rescue the teddy bear ,make your own wooden reindeer, face painting, fossil hunting , nail art along with other activities too. There will also be hot food and refreshments served during the afternoon. A grand raffle and two tombolas to try your luck on. There will also be a very special visitor, Santa, who will be in his Grotto waiting to see the children. Entrance is just 50p for adults with no charge for children.
PRESENTATION: There will be a presentation to Jenny and John Mainwood at the Village Hall on the December 12 at 4.00 p,m. Everyone is welcome to come and wish John and Jenny well in their retirement and thank them for the many years of service they have given to the community here in the village. Refreshments will be available to all. Please do not forget to sign the memory book which is available on the counter in the village shop along with a bucket for waiting for any contributions you would like to make towards the presentation.
SEDLESCOMBE AND DISTRICT FLOWER CLUB: The club had a bumper turn out of members and guests for the Christmas demonstration in the village hall last and those present were not disappointed by Gill Sadler who gave a beautiful interpretation of “Joy to the World”.
