SDGS SPRING SHOW: This Saturday April 9, Sedlescombe & District Garden Society's Spring Show will be held in the Village Hall. All members will have received their copy of the 2016 Show Schedule and as usual there is something for everyone including many classes of daffodils and other cut flowers, pot plants, vegetables, photography, domestic and handicraft and hopefully there will be lots of entries to all the classes on offer. Staging of exhibits will be from 8.15 a.m. to 10.15 a.m. followed by the judging. The Show will be open to the public at 2.00 p.m for viewing of all the exhibits and the results followed by the awarding of prizes later in the afternoon. Admission is just 50p and gives an opportunity to be part of a traditional village event, you may even feel inspired to take part in the summer or autumn show. COURTYARD SALE: Make a date. There will be a courtyard sale at the parish rectory , Church Hill on Saturday April 16 at 10.30am . there will be bric a brac, books and various items to buy plus coffee , tea and biscuits. For more information please call 870808.

SEDLESCOMBE SPORTS ASSOCIATION: If you are interested in sport and would like to help in your community. The association is still in need of a volunteer to join their small committee taking on the role of secretary. This is in no way an onerous job, in fact the committee meet in the pub around three to four times a year, to discuss the running of the sports field and facilities. Come on, please do not be shy – If you think you may be interested and would like to arrange to discuss what is involved then please contact David Torrance (Treasurer) on 870344 or Ashley Davey on 870615.

SEDLESCOMBE‘S GOT TALENT: More performers have been added to the schedule for this event to take place on Friday May 20 in the village hall, but there is still room for a few more. We are hoping to see singers, dancers, jugglers, musicians, in fact all types of entertainment are welcome to join in from Sedlescombe and the surrounding area. The closing date for entries is April 29 and places are limited so do not delay in booking in to take part. There is no fee to enter and there will be a £100 awarded to the winner and runner up money prizes too. Professional sound system and engineer will be available. SEDLESCOMBE FAYRE 2016: Mark your diaries for the summer event of the year, Sedlescombe fayre along with the Sedlescombe and District Gardening Society summer show will take place on the sports field on Saturday 16 July. This is once again being sponsored by the Parish Council and the Sports Association. It is hoped that as many as possible of the village groups and businesses will take part in the day when there will be the opportunity to publicise and raise funds for yourself. St Michaels Hospice will be making a welcome return providing the refreshments with money raised to aid the Phoenix rebuilding the hospice appeal. It is also hoped that the goose will make a star appearance later in the day! All those that took part in 2015 should have been contacted by now, but if your club or group has not as yet and would like more details please contact Debra Veitch on 870914 or email [email protected]
