The Core Strategy sets an overall target of between 355-400 dwellings up to 2028 to be built in Rye and Rye Harbour.

There are nine sites that have been considered as potential allocations, which include land at Stonework Cottages, Rye Harbour.

Broad Oak could see an extra 50 houses built over the 12-year period. Land to the west of Northiam Road and land south of the Rainbow Trout pub in the village could be used.

For Camber, Rother District Council is proposing that two brownfield sites are used for around 20 new homes in total, namely land at the former putting green and land at the central car park.

The Core Strategy identifies 142 total new dwellings for Northiam between 2011 and 2028. There are more than 20 sites of varying sizes in and around Northiam that have been assessed for their suitability as housing sites.
