Tomorrow evening the Staplecross and Ewhurst Bonfire Society will be holding its annual Dinner and Dance in Staplecross Village Hall.

Next Saturday (March 2) at 2pm in Staplecross village hall the committee is offering the chance for us all to sort out all those items for which we have no need and donate them to the first jumble sale of the year. There promises to be great bargains and anyone either with items to donate or offers to help will be most welcome. Donations may be dropped off on the morning of the sale, or collected by ringing 01580-830704 or 830570. A lot of hard work goes on behind the scenes by the committee to ensure that the hall is in good order for the many activities that take place during the year and this jumble sale is an excellent way of raising funds to enable the good work to continue.

The Luncheon Club which is held on the third Wednesday of the month now faces lifting the price of the hot meal to £5.50, but this is still a bargain for all those living in the parish who are 50+ to enjoy a hot meal with good company once a month in Staplecross village hall. Prospective members should contact Anka 830260 or Dennis 830816 to indicate their interest and make a booking.

Jive comes to Staplecross on Sunday afternoon March 17 when the Charleston Jive Squad present an afternoon Tea Dance at 5pm for an afternoon of top tunes from the 1940’s and 1950’s. The in-house DJs are Swing Out Si, Miss Peaches and Darcie. The admission charge is £6 to include tea, coffee and cake.
