Town hosts open air play for the eighth year

THE BARD returns to the beautiful surroundings of Cleveland House in Winchelsea on Friday August 16th.

Professional touring group Rain or Shine will be presenting Comedy of Errors as the open air event marks its eighth year in a row.

The play starts at 7pm but the garden will be open for people to enjoy picnics from 6pm.

The audience are asked to bring their own seats and refreshments.

Tickets are £13.50 for adults and £6 for under-16s, and can be booked on 01797-224446 or will@winchelsea.net.

There is more information on www.winchelsea.net/play.htm, including a link to an online booking facility if you wish to pay by credit or debit card. Tickets are also usually available on the gate.

In the event of poor weather, the performance will move to St Thomas’s Church.

Previous performances at Cleveland House have been very well attended.

Rain or Shine usually return to Winchelsea in December to stage a Christmas play at the church. They staged Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol” in 2009, Wilde’s “Canterville Ghost” in 2010 and “Wind in the Willows” in 2012.
