Mum hurt in Battle hit and run

A YOUNG mum was left with facial injuries after her car was struck by a hit and run driver in Battle.

The 20-year-old’s silver VW Golf was parked outside the Co-Op in the High Street at 2.30pm last Wednesday (September 7).

One of the vehicle’s doors was open as the woman was putting her baby into a car seat.

A black Vauxhall Insignia, heading towards Hastings, clipped the open door, causing the woman to hit her head on her vehicle.

The Vauxhall did not stop at the scene.

The woman, from Bexhill, was left with serious bruising and swelling to her check following the incident.

Police have checked all available CCTV footage and are appealing for the public’s help in identifying the driver, who may not have realised what had happened.

If you witnessed the accident, or if you were driving the Vauxhall, call Sussex Police on 0845 60 70 999.
