A driver was taken to hospital after suffering injuries in a crash involving three cars in Rye yesterday (Tuesday, August 23).

Emergency services were called after a red Ford Fiesta, a black Nissan Qashqai and a blue BMW M5 crashed on the A259 Fishmarket Road, near its junction with New Road, at around 5.05pm.

The Nissan driver sustained slight injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment, according to police.

A passenger from the Ford was treated at the scene for shock.

The road was partially blocked eastwards between Wish Street and Rock Channel until around 8pm while the vehicles involved were recovered, resulting in long traffic tailbacks.
