Work by great Sussex craftsman Jim Smith is to be auctioned off this month.
Burwash resident Jim made the village signs for both Burwash and Robertsbridge as well as playing a significant role in restoring an old water-wheel at Batemans - the Burwash home of Rudyard Kipling.
Jim, who modestly described himself as ‘Jim - Jack of all Trades’, died last year aged 105.
The auction of 77 of Jim’s work will be held at the Burwash Common Pavilion, Ticehurst Road on Saturday March 28, at 2pm.
Proceeds from the auction will go to the Burwash Weald and Common Memorial Playing Field and St Philips Church.
