Two men were hurt when they were hit by a car in the early hours of the morning in Rye.

Sussex Police are trying to trace the driver of a dark coloured saloon car that failed to stop after hitting the pair just after 12.20am on Sunday May 17.

The car hit the two 21-year-old local men in Ferry Road, Rye, at the junction with Cinque Ports Road, outside the Crown pub.

One of the men was treated at the Conquest Hospital in Hastings for grazes, and the other man sustained a sprained ankle.

PC Nigel Dunn of the Surrey and Sussex Road Policing Unit said: “Anyone who saw what happened or who can help identify the car and the driver, is asked to contact us via collision.appeal@sussex.pnn.police.uk or call 101, quoting serial 40 of 17/5.”
