UPDATED: Injured Guestling man cut free after car crashes into Rye shop

A Guestling man was cut free from his car and taken to hospital after crashing into a shop in Rye last night (Sunday, August 22).

Emergency services were sent to Ferry Road after a Jeep Grand Cherokee crashing into a shop front at 11.55pm.

Firefighters cut the 47-year-old driver free from the wreckage and was treated for neck pain by South East Coast Ambulance Service crews at the scene before being taken to the Conquest Hospital.

He was discharged a few hours later.

No other vehicle or person was involved in the collision.
