Reverend John Lee: Sadly The Funeral of Reverend John Lee former Chaplain to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth will take place at his old Parish Chidingstone Kent at 2pm in St Mary’s Church. All who knew him are welcome.

Strike Back Against Cancer. Julie McDonnell a bellringer at St George’s Brede and her bellringing friends hope to raise £100.000 by Christmas, they have already raised £520,000 please support them. The Government have withdrawn funding for 2nd stem cell transplants in England, despite it being available in Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. Julie had a 2nd stem cell transplant about 8 weeks ago and with out it she would not be here now, all money raised goes to NHSBT who do the transplants for adults and children who need a 2nd stem cell transplant. Friday 7 October: Pilates with Laura at 9.15am Brede Farmers Market in Brede Village Hall from 10am – 12noon I was not disappointed last week , I not only found what I wanted but saved a few phone calls as I spoke to the people concerned in person. Much better really, and far more pleasurable. I had to avert my eyes from the plant sellers as I’m sort of moaned at when I return with some “ Not more plants, where are you going to put them. Which is fair enough really. Brede Short Mat Bowls Club meet at Brede Village Hall on Friday evenings at 7.30.they are always keen to welcome new members, but if you would like to go and try it, just take a change of flat shoes. They have a tea /coffee break during the evening and you will be made very welcome. If you would like more information, please contact Graham on 01424 427459.

Pantostein Brede Players are putting on this scarily funny production tonight at 7.30pm in Brede Village Hall. Tickets available from Julie Etches 01424 882054 or Broad Oak Bakery and on the door. Friday costs £6.00 for adults & Saturday £7 both days £3.00 for children.

Saturday 8 October There is a Macmillan Coffee Morning in Udimore Community Hall at 10am - 12noon. There are two performances of Pantostein today one at 2.30pm and the other at 7.30pm in Brede Village Hall. Do support our Brede Players please. Our local singing group Vocality are performing ‘The Big Sing’ in St Johns Church, Brittany Road St Leonards On Sea at 1.30pm in aid of St Michaels Hospice Fundraising.

Brede Village Dance is tonight for those wishing to have their own ‘Strictly Dancing’ and sequence dancing tonight in Brede Village Hall at 7.30pm

Monday 10 October: Yoga at 9.30am, Sprog a doodle do, 11.15am and Josie Creaser Excercises 7.30pm all in Udimore Community Hall. The whist players will be in action in Brede Village Hall at 7.30pm. The Village Hall is empty during the day, if you want to hire it please phone Carol Kynvin 01424 882123 The Guiding section meet in the small hall of Brede Village Hall; the Rainbows meet from 4.15- 5.15pm, they welcome girls aged between 5-7 years, Julie Piper can be contacted for both on 01424 883464 or mobile 07863599537. The Brede Scout sections are all held in the Scout Hut Stubbs Lane, Beavers welcome Boys and girls from 6 years old they meet from 5.15pm to 6.15pm. Tuesday 11 October: Pilates with Laura in Udimore Community Hall at 9.15am

Brede Painting for Pleasure meet at 9.30am in Brede Village Hall. The Knitters & Natters club meet in the Methodist Church Hall at 10am do join them if you like to knit.

Wednesday 12 October: Pilates with Laura in Udimore Community Hall at 9.15am. Brede Women’s Institute have Jane Lowther talking about a House of Colour. If you are intrigued go along as visitors are always welcome. The session begins at 2pm in Brede Village Hall. Next Wednesday 16th there will be a flu clinic at the Broad oak surgery between 2pm and 3pm no appointment is necessary, I will remind you again next week.

The East Sussex Mobile Library service visits today, calling first at Reedswood Road at 1pm – 1.35pm then Brede Village Hall car park from 1.45 – 2.15pm

Thursday 13 October: Pilates with Laura is at 9.15.Yoga is at 10.30am both in Udimore Community Hall.

Stretch and Tone with Sally in Brede Village Hall at 9.30am

Design with Flowers at 2pm in the Church Room Brede. This month it is a design using hedgerow foliage, berries and nuts. Do come along and join us, flower arranging is a lovely pastime and a good asset if you are throwing a dinner party or doing a Christmas table.

Friendly Circle have thier AGM tonight followed by Sue Bidgood Untangling the complexity of Antiques. You may bring an item you would like valued but no jewellery please. The meeting begins at 7.30pm in Brede Village Hall and visitors are welcome

Friday 14 October: Pilates with Laura at 9.15am Brede Farmers Market in Brede Village Hall from 10am – 12noon and Brede Short Mat Bowlers will be in Brede Village Hall at 7.30pm. There are McMillan Coffee Mornings around the Village today and a supper at the Vicarage. Do try to support these events or give a donation.

Wednesday 19 October: the friends of St George’s are holding an illustrated talk by Dr. John Crook on Brede Memories. It will be held in Brede Village Hall at 7.30pm. Entry is £7.50 and includes cheese, biscuits and a glass of wine. Tickets are available from Marion Firman 01424 751165 or Pat Whately 01424 883069 This will be most interesting so book early so as not to be disappointed.

Saturday 29 October: NB.Quiz Night Postponed until November 26th at Brede Village Hall if you wish to have a table for 8, please contact me as soon as possible as we have eight teams already. We shall have a Fish and Chip supper and the cost is £9 per person. All proceeds are to upkeep Brede Village Hall.

Sunday 30 October: the Brede & Udimore Overseas Group are holding an English Tea Party with cakes scones meringues and jellies at Chitcombe Oast. Please put the date in your diary and contact either Liz Turgoose 01424 882657 or Judy Edwards 01424 882222 to book up for this afternoon of fun and food.
