The second period started like the first with The Bridge pressuring the Spartans goal and the reward was a fine goal by the other debutant Howard Atkinson on 55 minutes but again poor defending allowed the home side to level 5 minutes later and a mix up in the defence allowed Spartans to take the lead on 64 minutes. The Bridge claimed a handball in the area 3 minutes later but the referee declined their appeal while stand in goal keeper Shaun Colvin brought down the home forward for a penalty 2 minutes later but he made amends with a good save. The Bridge pushed hard for a point but the home defence stood firm to take all three points.
