DIGGING UP THE PAST: There’s been much interest in Sue Lee’s talk on local archaeology, at 3pm tomorrow (Saturday) in the Hall. Sue is well qualified to give us a most informative and stimulating talk. For a late booking, it would be worth ringing me (01797 223055), Gillian Rothery (01424882774), Liz Turgoose (01424 882657) or Sue Rowan (01424 882681) as soon as you can. Tickets cost £12.50, to include tea and cake.
CHURCH SERVICES: In St Mary’s this Sunday Holy Communion will be celebrated at 8am. At 6pm there will be a service of Evensong, at which we shall be joined by members of the three other parishes in our benefice: Brede, Beckley and Peasmarsh. It’s to be hoped that there will be a good turnout from Udimore, to welcome our visitors.
POETRY AND PROSE EVENING: As already advertised in this column (though not in the Parish Magazine) this ever-popular annual event will take place in the Hall next Saturday (February 25), starting at 7.15pm. Tickets cost £12.50, to include the price of a hearty two-course supper. If you don’t want to miss it and haven’t yet booked, please ring Robert Wheeler (01797 222009) or Gary Marriott (01424 882412) as soon as possible. If there are any passages of verse or prose you would like to include in the programme, please bring them along with you, either to read them yourself or to ask someone else to read them for you.
