RYE HARBOUR NATURE RESERVE: At 2.30pm tomorrow (Saturday) in Winchelsea Beach Village Hall a talented photographer, Tom Houlton, will be presenting some of his very best photos of the Reserve’s many wildlife gems. His photos, and stories of his experiences in taking them, will be an inspirational revelation even to those of us who think we know the Reserve quite well. No charge, but there will be a chance to contribute to the cost of putting the show on, and of tea or coffee and biscuits in the interval.
CHURCH SERVICE: In St Mary’s this Sunday there will be a Sung Family Eucharist, starting at 11.15am, followed by refreshments in the church.
SPRING FASHION SHOW: In the Hall at 7pm on Thursday (March 23) this show will feature presentations by three fashion houses. Kontrast of Rye (with showroom in Lion Street) is run by Rena Stout and Susie Jaggs. Rena has organised prestigious shows in London and has Celia Hammond as one of her models. Herald and Heart Hats also has its showroom in Rye, in the High Street. The third participant, is Miss Captain, a French fashion house that sells fashions through its local UK agent, Michelle Duke. Michelle has been in business for many years and knows just what to bring to fashion-conscious women in East Sussex.
This fabulous show has been arranged by the Friends of St Mary’s Church. Tickets cost £5, including nibbles, and are available from Nadia Florence-Marshall (01424 882948).
LENT LUNCH: The next Lent Lunch will be next Friday, March 24, between noon and 1.30pm, in Brede Rectory. A bowl of hot soup will be followed by bread and cheese. No charge, but donations for the Hope House orphanage in Kenya will be gratefully received. If you can help with the catering, please let Fr Martin or Vicki know as soon as possible (01424 883408, or 07760 197954).
