THE NEW INN: Thursday, December 3, sees the Big Westfield Lights Switch On. The New Inn has organised a raffle, School Choir, and Arrow FM hopefully reporting live. From 5.30pm with the lights on at 6.30pm there is a hope this year of breaking the £10,000 barrier for St Michaels Hospice. Bookings are being taken for their Christmas menu. Some days are already completely booked, so act quickly. Plans are already in place for a New Years Eve party with the pub opening at 7pm, live music from the Mutineers at 9pm and of course a late license. THE FRIENDSHIP CLUB: Future dates are November 23 and December 7 (Christmas party). New members are made most welcome. Meetings are 2pm to 3.30pm in the Parish Hall, and members enjoy dominoes, Scrabble, whist, bingo, and a chat over tea and biscuits. The yearly subscription is £5, plus 10p each meeting.
