Traditional Village Fête: A meeting was held on Tuesday night to finalise the details of the forthcoming Village Fête. This much-loved annual event will be held on Saturday, August 29th, from 1.30pm, in the field behind the Hall car park, by kind permission of Hugh and Lesley Apthorp. We are all looking forward to it and hoping to see you all there! Entry is free, there is plenty of parking, and there will be lots of attractions for all ages. Among the new features will be a genuine gypsy caravan, complete with a mystery fortune teller! Come along and find out what the future holds for you - or possibly a hot tip for the 3.15 at Goodwood! There will be plenty of stalls for children, such as hoopla, Splat the Rat, china smashing, Find the Buried Treasure (on a map), Find the Key to the Cabinet (containing special prizes), tractor rides and several games to play. Weather permitting, there will also be pony rides. For refreshments there will be lots on offer: a barbecue, beer tent, wine and soft drinks, choc-ices, and delicious teas and cakes, as well as cakes to buy, will be provided as usual by Valerie Bishop and her team from St Mary Magdalene. Come and join the fun!
