I’m writing to express my disappointment that my local MP Huw Merriman did not stand up and speak out against tax credit cuts.
Lots of other MPs did the decent thing and spoke out on behalf of their constituents.
These appalling cuts will hit many families with young children.
I wonder how Mr Merriman would feel if he had to choose between buying a pair of shoes, making sure that there was enough food to feed the family or perhaps just buying clothes for the children to wear to school, so on and so forth.
I am exasperated with the way this Conservative government are treating the majority of the people of GB, it appears that they are intent on looking after themselves, their rich chums and large billionaire corporations whilst taking from the poor and giving to the rich one per cent.
They had the cheek to except an 11 per cent wage increase whilst implementing a one per cent increase, over four years for the real workers of GB.
Then to add salt to the wounds of the poor they gave their billionaire backers, large corporations a tax reduction – so unjust and biased.
What happened to Mr Cameron’s words and I quote “ We Are All In This Together”.
It is shameful how the Tories, particularly David Cameron, promise everything just to get elected, then do the complete opposite when in power.
Election manifestos should be a legally binding document, this would then stop them going back on their promises.
They said the NHS was safe under a Tory rule, it is being slowly sold off behind closed doors.
Mr Cameron is a hypocrite, he is worth around £6m, he has claimed child benefit, carers allowance benefit, disability living allowance, rents out his second property (paid for by the tax payer) for a large personal profit per month, whilst living at NO. 10 for FREE, then had the audacity to say: “People who claim benefits should have a genuine need for them, nobody should think they are an Entitlement”. The cuts were not in the Tory manifesto.
They are taking away tax credits from the poorest families and pushing them into poverty.
We appear to be going back to Victorian times. Since David Cameron came into power this once Great Britain has been going downhill fast.
The Tory Party has never been and never will be for the working classes.
I believe and I sincerely hope that the people of GB are opening the eyes and ears and are now starting to wake up that the Conservatives are nothing but the biggest prevaricators of all time.
I could go on and on but I have other pressing things I must do, so I will end my rant by saying the sooner we rid ourselves of a Tory government the better it will be for the vast majority of the people of Great Britain.
