Charity book sale in Rye

Sue Ryder is holding a big book sale in Rye to mark 50 years of operating charity shops.
The sale takes place at Rye Baptist Church Hall, in Cinque Ports Street, on Thursday September 11 and every book for sale will cost just 50p.
Rye shop manager, Denise Ellis, explained that the 50p price was inspired by the charity's celebration of 50 years in retail. "Not only do we have a lot to celebrate but we have a lot of books to sell," she said. "We're hoping that people will come along to clear the shelves and get themselves a bargain."
The sale includes many foreign language and travel books as well as hardback and paperback non-fiction and fiction, children's books and some videos.
All the money raised will go towards Sue Ryder Care's work to help people with life-shortening conditions including cancer, Motor Neurone disease, Multiple Sclerosis and other neurological conditions.
