The weather forecast may have been grim, but villagers were determined it would not get in the way of their enjoyment of the annual Catsfield Village Fete.
The throngs of people who turned out on the day enjoyed the numerous attractions, including Scotty's Circus Workshop, which was new to the event, but was a hit with children.

Pony rides made a welcome return following a three-year absence from the fete, which was opened by parish council chair John Overall.

The fete had a very traditional theme, with a coconut shy and village stocks amongst the entertainment.

The 1066 Cruisers brought along some cars for people to look at and some villagers arrived with antique agricultural vehicles, including tractors and mini-diggers.

East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service arrived with one of their fire engines, which also proved popular with the younger members of the crowd.

The day was rounded off by a storming barn dance in the evening.

The event was organised by the fete committee, made up of Chris Wardle, Peter Josling, Richard Philcox and Matthew Wheeler.

This year the event was boosted by sponsorship from the Lloyd TSB Commercial Bank An Hour Scheme, where a team of local staff give up an hour or two of their time to help with fundraising.

Although the final total raised has yet to be added up, it's believed the final profit is up on last year.

All money raised will go towards Catsfield Under 5s Playgroup, which is currently looking for a new home.
