Fire death man named by police

A disabled man who died in a house fire at Netherfield has been named by police.
David Reader, 45, died in the blaze at White Cottage in the grounds of Netherfield Place Farm, Netherfield Hill on Sunday evening.
Mr Reader, who was described as 'profoundly disabled' and is believed to have lived alone, was found dead in the house, despite a brave rescue attempt by firefighters.
He was said to be 'profoundly disabled' and because of the isolated nature of the property, the fire was only discovered when his carer came out to see him.
She raised the alarm when she saw the flames.
The blaze broke out on the ground floor of the two-storey property.
Although the fire was contained in one room, the blaze caused smoke damage throughout the building.
Scientists from the Forensic Science Service made a detailed examination of the premises.
The cause of the fire is not being treated as suspicious.
A report will be submitted to HM Coroner for East Sussex.
