Missing nine year old sparks sea search at Rye

A missing boy sparked a major sea search off Rye on Saturday.
The nine year old had been reported missing for two hours after putting to sea in a kayak.
The Rye Harbour Lifeboat launched at 2.20pm and luckily located the kayak within five minutes.

Tony Edwards, from Rye Harbour Lifeboat said: "We found a kayak and the occupant confirmed that he was the missing child.

"Also aboard the kayak was a second boy who had gone to help the nine year old find his parents

"Both boys were returned safely to shore.
'This search had a positive outcome as the casualty was located quickly."
