There will be pennies in heaven in Rye on Monday May 5 when the town's unique Mayor Making celebrations take place.
The new Mayor traditionally throws hot pennies, from an upper window of the Town Hall, to youngsters waiting below.

This year will see Deputy Mayor Cllr Sam Souster taking over the Mayorality from Paul Osborne, who has completed two years service.

Adding colour to the occasion will be Rye Town Crier Rex Swain.
Youngsters are invited to gather outside the Town Hall on Monday May 5 at 12.30pm.
