Police are probing the sudden death of a pensioner in Fairlight.
The 75 year old was involved in an altercation with two people who appeared to be fitness training in Smugglers' Way, Fairlight.

Following the incident yesterday (Thursday) at around 12.45pm, the man became unwell and was taken to the Conquest Hospital in Hastings, where he subsequently died.

Police said a 20-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman, both from Hastings, have been arrested and are assisting police with their enquiries.

Chief Inspector Heather Keating, Rother District Commander, said: "This is a tragic, isolated incident and I want to reassure the local community that officers will be patrolling the village over the coming days.

"I encourage people to talk to them if they are concerned or if they have any information that can assist this enquiry."

Anyone with information should call Sussex Police on 0845 60 70 999.
