Rye Fire Station open day

FIREFIGHTERS in Rye held an open day at the fire station on Sunday and raised hundreds of pounds for charity.
Children had the chance to sit in the fire engines and learn about fire safety.There were also stalls selling cakes as well as a raffle and tombola.
Andy Polley, watch commander, said more than £2,300 had been raised so far for the Fire Service Charity (formally the Fire Service Benevolent Fund), through the culmination of the open day, raffle and recent firefighters' ball at The Mermaid Inn.
