Yet another Rye game is off

Yet another football match at The Salts has been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch

Rye United’s fixture backlog has become even worse after yet another postponement.

The scheduled visit of fellow high-flyers East Preston in Sussex County Football League Division One tonight (Tuesday) has been called-off due to a waterlogged pitch.

It means that Rye have still only played one league game since December 1 and they have 23 (more than half of their entire league programme) to cram in between now and the end of the season.

Sidley United are due to host Shoreham in a John O’Hara League Challenge Cup quarter-final tonight (Tuesday) and news of whether that match is going ahead will follow in due course.
