Bexhill Cricket Club faces the biggest game of its season tomorrow (Saturday) away to Sussex Cricket League Division Two leaders Eastbourne.

A win for Bexhill could be key in their bid for promotion, with second-placed Goring-by-Sea travelling to Ifield for a tough fixture of their own. A defeat, however, coupled with a Goring win could mean curtains in Bexhill’s bid for an instant return to the Premier League.

“We’ve beaten the top two already this season; we just have to do it again,” said Bexhill coach Ian Cox. “We have four matches left and if we can win them all, we’ll go up - it’s as simple as that.

Third-placed Bexhill trail Goring by 23 points and Eastbourne by 39 with two to go up and four games left. Crowhurst Park, meanwhile, will be targeting a first victory in six Division Two games when they host relegation threatened Pulborough. Both games will start at 12.30pm.

Standings (all played 14 matches): 1 Eastbourne 344pts, 2 Goring-by-Sea 328, 3 BEXHILL 305, 4 Findon 273, 5 Ifield 230, 6 CROWHURST PARK 228, 7 St James’s Montefiore 197, 8 Middleton 190, 9 Pulborough 150, 10 Glynde & Beddingham 124.
