Brighton vs Chelsea tickets details released - Seagulls supporters moved to make room for away fans

Brighton fans who sit in the West Stand Upper at The Amex will have to sit elsewhere in the ground so that Chelsea supporters can catch a first glimpse of the Champions League winners.

Some Seagulls fans reacted angrily to the news they would have to make way for their West London counterparts after hearing the Stamford Bridge outfit had been given 4,000 or the 18,000 available tickets.

Albion’s recently appointed chief executive Paul Barber explained, “I am sure some of our West Stand Upper season ticket holders will have preferred to sit in their normal seats, but with this being Chelsea’s only UK friendly fixture, and their first on home soil since winning the Champions League, we had to cater for their needs alongside our own.

“With the building works ongoing, we have made the best arrangements we can, and I am sure the very minor inconvenience of those fans will be far outweighed by the exciting prospect of hosting the European Champions and FA Cup holders at The Amex.”

The price of attended the club’s prestige friendly has also annoyed some fans who think £30 is a lot to pay for a friendly but it is not thought there will be any shortage of takers.

All season ticket holders for the 2012/13 season, with 1,050 loyalty points or more, will qualify for a ticket but must purchase by 5pm on Friday, July 6 to secure their ticket. The tickets go on sale on Sunday, July 1 via the club’s online ticketing system.

Seats will then be available to current season ticket holders with 1,000 loyalty points initially online only, from 5pm on Friday, July 6, and then in person at both ticket offices and over the phone on 0844 327 1901 from 9.30am on Monday, July 9.

Tickets will then be offered to current season ticket holders regardless of loyalty points online from 5pm on Tuesday, July 10 and then over the phone or in person the following day.

Season ticket holders from last season will then be able to try and buy tickets online from 5pm on Thursday, July 12 and then over the phone or in person from 9.30am on the Friday.

Any tickets left will then be sold to any supporter with 150 or more loyalty points online from 5pm on Tuesday, July 17 and then in person or over the phone from 9.30am on Wednesday, July 18.

Prices for the Saturday, August 4 match are £30 for adults, £20 for over 65s and £15 for under 16s.
